Small Endangered Species Art Prints (4 pack): Texas Blind Salamander

Made by Giclee Today

Endangered Species Coalition 2019 art contest semifinalist. Drawn by Sam Hess in the grade k-2 category.

This is a drawing of the Texas blind salamander. Because it is adapted for living in water underground, it has no eyes, only two small black dots under the skin. It has little skin pigment, is white in color, and has red external gills used to get oxygen from the water.

The Texas blind salamander depends on a constant supply of clean, cool water from the Edwards Aquifer. Pollution and overuse of water caused by the growth of cities threaten its survival. You can help by conserving water and preventing water pollution.

  • This print is on an archival paper for beautiful long lasting prints with exceptional color reproduction (Bright white, 100% cotton, slightly textured)
  • This item contains 4 prints, each 4.2" by 5.6" in size with a white border around the images.
