Generations of Safe Water

For millions of families around the world, access to funds stands between them and safe water in their home. Water.org’s solutions focus on breaking down this financial barrier, empowering women like Rebecca in Uganda to provide their families with access to safe water — and so much more.

When her kids were young, Rebecca spent most of her days walking to a stream or well for water. When those sources did not offer enough, she had to purchase water from vendors. Later as a grandmother, she watched her children raise their own families in this same reality.

Everything changed when Rebecca learned she could get access to a small, affordable loan from a local microfinance institution. With the help of Water.org, she and her husband not only got a small loan to construct a water tap at their home, they took out a loan to lay pipe so their neighbors could connect to the municipal water line as well. Rebecca solved her own family’s water crisis and helped provide a solution for her neighbors, too.

ReThink Disposable

Our planet is awash in a rising tide of single-use plastic disposable trash. After it’s “thrown away” this single-use waste often ends up in our water, where it can harm wildlife and threaten human health as it breaks down, spreads toxins and enters the food chain.

Clean Water Action’s award-winning ReThink Disposable program is already helping consumers, food businesses and institutional dining operations eliminate more than 10 million single-use disposable items per year. With your involvement, we can do even more: to conserve resources, prevent waste and protect our water. Join us!

Envira Amazonia Project, Amazonian Basin, Acre, Brazil

The Envira Amazonia project will preserve over 494,000 acres of a rare and highly endangered tropical rainforest eco-system while simultaneously providing this rural forest community with a new school and major educational programs, a new health clinic, land title, and direct payments for forest conservation. The project will also mitigate deforestation and preserve the rich bio-diversity while simultaneously generating sustainable economic and educational opportunities for this local rainforest community.

Envira is the model for successfully utilizing carbon credit revenues as the best approach to preserving these extraordinary forest eco-systems. The project is developed to the highest standards including Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) and Climate, Community, Biodiversity Standard (CCB) and awarded “Triple Gold Distinction” for climate change mitigation, biodiversity, and community net positive benefits, which only a few projects in world have achieved.

Loggerhead Turtle Tracker

Since 2008 we’ve been tracking turtles! This is Aaron, we found her injured and near death. We rehabilitated her and released her back into the sea. With her satellite tracker she has logged over 360 miles and is helping us learn and enhance the ability to protect all loggerheads, both in U.S. waters and internationally. The study continues to reveals critical information about the migratory behavior, foraging grounds, and areas of potential conflict humans. Educational migration maps allow people all over the world to watch along as researchers discover where the sea turtles travel after nesting.

Light The Night

When you or someone you love hears the words “you have cancer”... It’s one of the darkest moments in your life. At Light The Night, it is our aim to bring light to the darkness of cancer through research and cures. Light The Night is a series of fundraising campaigns benefiting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) funding of research to find blood cancer cures. We bring hope instead of despair by working to ensure access to treatments for all blood cancer patients. We bring communities together to celebrate those who are fighting the disease and to honor those we have lost. We are taking steps to end cancer. WE LIGHT THE NIGHT.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is at the forefront of the fight to cure cancer. We are the largest nonprofit dedicated to creating a world without blood cancers. Since 1949, we’ve invested more than $1.2 billion in groundbreaking research, pioneering many of today’s most innovative approaches. We provided free information, support services and financial assistance to over 30,000 people last year. Our nationwide grassroots network of more than 100,000 volunteers advocate for state and federal policies that benefit patients.
9X Impact

Creating Women Entrepreneurs

The Create Women Entrepreneurs campaign empowers women to lift out of poverty by helping them start a new Chicken Business. Chickens provide direct additional family income through the sale of eggs and chicks. Chicken manure is used to fertilize family gardens, and the produce is sold in local markets to generate even more income which allows families to send their children to school.

Your $3 enables a woman to start a business, generating $150 in income to help lift her family out of poverty.  In many countries, $150 can send a child to school for an entire year!  Heifer ensures that chickens are shared with neighbors so your impact gift will multiply 9X creating an economic benefit to the community of $1,350.

Feed a Child To Survive

World Vison is working with The United Nations World Food Program (WFP) to address global hunger and emergency food needs. WFP provides assistance to the most vulnerable around the world. It reaches more than 80 million people over 75 countries every year. It is the largest implementing partner in delivering food to the neediest populations.

Your $10 provides nutrient rich food for a hungry child for 30 days who lives in dangerous, war torn or emergency locations, such as South Sudan, Somalia and Myanmar. World Vision is one of the few NGO's permitted access to these regions. World Vision is partnering with the World Food Program so your $10 will multiply 4X and feed a child for 120 days.

Saving Endangered Species Youth Art Contest

Every year the Endangered Species Coalition sponsors an inspiring, nationwide youth art contest in celebration of Endangered Species Day on May 18, 2018.

Created by children in grades K-12, these works of art beautifully depict endangered and recovered species of animals and plants that live or migrate through the United States.

Each one is a message of hope.

The Right Place

By supporting The Right Place Campaign you will help fund the conservation of wildlife habitat and support programs that reduce conflicts between bears and humans. This in turn helps protect the larger natural ecosystem we are all reliant on.

Although some grizzly populations have made significant gains in recent years, others in several ecosystems are teetering on the brink of extinction. According to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the number of grizzlies on the U.S. side of the Selkirk and Cabinet-Yaak ecosystems are at dangerous lows and number less than 50 bears each. Without protection of the Right Places, these bear populations are threatened to decline further due to isolation, fractured habitat and human activities.
